Citation, commencement, interpretation and extent

article 1 + 1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Firearms (Variation of Fees) Order 2025 and comes into force on 5th February 2025.

term the 1968 act + (2) In this Order “the 1968 Act” means the Firearms Act 1968.

term the 1988 act + (3) In this Order “the 1988 Act” means the Firearms (Amendment) Act 1988.

(4) This Order extends to England and Wales and Scotland.

Amendment to fees for firearm and shot gun certificates

article 2 + 2.  In section 32(1) of the 1968 Act(3) (fees for firearm and shot gun certificates)—

article 2 a + (a)in paragraph (a), for “£88” substitute “£198”;

article 2 b + (b)in paragraph (b), for “£62” substitute “£131”;

article 2 c + (c)in paragraph (c), for “£20” substitute “£47”;

article 2 d + (d)in paragraph (cc), for “£4” substitute “£9”;

article 2 e + (e)in paragraph (d), for “£79.50” substitute “£194”;

Amendment to fees for registration as a firearms dealer

article 3 + 3.  In section 35 of the 1968 Act(4) (fee for registration and renewal as a firearms dealer)—

article 3 b + (b)in subsection (1A), for “£13” substitute “£30”;

article 3 c + (c)in subsection (3), for “£200” substitute “£466”.

Amendment to fees for co-terminous certificates

article 4 + 4.  In section 11(3) of the 1988 Act(5) (fee for the grant or renewal of a shot gun certificate on the same occasion as the grant or renewal of a firearm certificate)—

article 4 b + (b)in paragraph (b), for “£28” substitute “£71”;

Amendment to fees for visitors’ permits

article 5 + 5.  In section 17(8) of the 1988 Act(6) (fee for the grant of visitors permits)—
