EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order authorises National Highways to undertake the works to construct the Lower Thames Crossing, near Thurrock and Gravesend under the River Thames and carry out all associated works.

The Order permits National Highways to acquire, compulsorily or by agreement, land and rights in land and to use land for this purpose.

The Order also includes provisions in connection with the maintenance of the authorised development.

A copy of the documents certified in accordance with article 62 (certification of documents, etc.) of this Order may be inspected free of charge by appointment during normal working hours at National Highways, Bridge House, 1 Walnut Tree Close, Guildford, Surrey GU1 4LZ by contacting info@lowerthamescrossing.co.uk or calling the help desk on 0300 123 5000. A copy of those documents may also be inspected free of charge by appointment during normal working hours at a location near the authorised development. This location will be specified on National Highways’ website, be available until the A122 is open for traffic, and the public may request these locations by calling the aforementioned help desk.
