SCHEDULE 5Information: registrations by foreign powers of political influence where office-holders, etc., make misrepresentations (section 72 of the Act)

General

schedule 5 paragraph 1 1.  The name of the foreign power.

schedule 5 paragraph 2 2.  A description of—

schedule 5 paragraph 2 a (a)the political influence activities,

schedule 5 paragraph 2 b (b)the purpose of the political influence activities, and

schedule 5 paragraph 2 c (c)the outcome sought as a result of the political influence activities.

schedule 5 paragraph 3 3.  The date on which the foreign power anticipates the political influence activities will commence.

schedule 5 paragraph 4 4.  Where political influence activities are to continue over or are to be repeated over more than one day, a statement of this.

schedule 5 paragraph 5 5.  A statement, as the case may be—

schedule 5 paragraph 5 a (a)of the date on which the foreign power anticipates that the political influence activities will end, or

schedule 5 paragraph 5 b (b)that the foreign power anticipates that the political influence activities will continue indefinitely.

Information relating to the political influence activities

schedule 5 paragraph 6 6.  Where the political influence activities fall within section 70(2)(a) of the Act (communications with certain public officials)—

schedule 5 paragraph 6 a (a)either—

schedule 5 paragraph 6 a i (i)the name and role of the person to whom the communication is to be or was made, or

schedule 5 paragraph 6 a ii (ii)a description of the class of persons falling within each of paragraphs 1 to 27 of Schedule 14 to the Act to whom the communication is to be or was made and their roles,

schedule 5 paragraph 6 b (b)the nature and (where known) form of the communication,

schedule 5 paragraph 6 c (c)the purpose of the communication, and

schedule 5 paragraph 6 d (d)the outcome sought as a result of the communication.

schedule 5 paragraph 7 7.  Where the political influence activities fall within section 70(2)(b) of the Act (public communications)—

schedule 5 paragraph 7 a (a)the nature and (where known) form of the communication,

schedule 5 paragraph 7 b (b)the intended audience of the communication (if known),

schedule 5 paragraph 7 c (c)the purpose of the communication (if known), and

schedule 5 paragraph 7 d (d)the outcome sought as a result of the communication (if known).

schedule 5 paragraph 8 8.  Where the political influence activities fall within section 70(2)(c) of the Act (distributing money, goods or services to UK persons)—

schedule 5 paragraph 8 a (a)where applicable, the nature of the goods or services distributed or to be distributed,

schedule 5 paragraph 8 b (b)the actual or estimated value of the money, goods or services distributed or to be distributed,

schedule 5 paragraph 8 c (c)where a distribution has been or is to be made to an identifiable person—

schedule 5 paragraph 8 c i (i)the name of that person,

schedule 5 paragraph 8 c ii (ii)the role or capacity of the person to whom the distribution has been or is to be made (if known),

schedule 5 paragraph 8 d (d)where a distribution has been or is to be made to a group of persons and it is not practicable to provide the information referred to in sub-paragraph (c), a description of the group of persons (including their role or capacity, if known),

schedule 5 paragraph 8 e (e)the purpose of the distribution, and

schedule 5 paragraph 8 f (f)the outcome sought as a result of the distribution.

Information relating to the misrepresentation

schedule 5 paragraph 9 9.  In relation to the person who is to make the misrepresentation, the information identified in Part 1 of Schedule 1.

schedule 5 paragraph 10 10.  The nature, form and purpose of the misrepresentation to be made.

schedule 5 paragraph 11 11.  The persons, or a description of the persons, to whom the misrepresentation will be made (if known).

schedule 5 paragraph 12 12.  A description of the identity to be assumed by the person who is to make the misrepresentation, including, for example, any name, role or employment, responsibilities, activities or address they will purport to have (where applicable).

schedule 5 paragraph 13 13.  The period over which the misrepresentation will be made.

schedule 5 paragraph 14 14.  An explanation as to why the misrepresentation will be made.
