schedule 3 paragraph 7 1 schedule 3 paragraph 7 schedule 3 paragraph 7 7(1)Before exercising the power to enter premises under a warrant issued under paragraph 5 in respect of premises, an authorised inspector must—

schedule 3 paragraph 7 1 a (a)produce a copy of the warrant;

schedule 3 paragraph 7 1 b (b)supply the occupier (if present), or any other person appearing to the inspector to be in charge of the premises, with a copy of the warrant.

schedule 3 paragraph 7 2 (2)If requested to do so by a person on the premises, the inspector must also—

schedule 3 paragraph 7 2 a (a)produce evidence of the inspector’s identity, and

schedule 3 paragraph 7 2 b (b)explain the purpose for which the power is exercised;

(and see paragraph 2(5) for the requirement to produce an authorisation if requested).

schedule 3 paragraph 7 3 (3)If neither the occupier nor any other person appearing to the inspector to be in charge of the premises is present, the inspector must leave a copy of the warrant in a prominent place on the premises.
