schedule 3 paragraph 2 1 schedule 3 paragraph 2 schedule 3 paragraph 2 2(1)The Security Industry Authority may authorise persons to—
schedule 3 paragraph 2 1 a (a)exercise information gathering powers under paragraph 3;
schedule 3 paragraph 2 1 b (b)exercise powers of entry and inspection under paragraph 4;
schedule 3 paragraph 2 1 c (c)apply for a warrant to be issued under paragraph 5 and execute such a warrant.
schedule 3 paragraph 2 2 (2)term authorised inspector In this Schedule “authorised inspector” means—
schedule 3 paragraph 2 2 a (a)in relation to paragraph 3, a person authorised under sub-paragraph (1)(a);
schedule 3 paragraph 2 2 b (b)in relation to paragraph 4, a person authorised under sub-paragraph (1)(b);
schedule 3 paragraph 2 2 c (c)in relation to paragraphs 5 to 8, a person authorised under sub-paragraph (1)(c);
schedule 3 paragraph 2 2 d (d)in relation to paragraph 11 or 12, a person authorised under any of sub-paragraphs (1)(a) to (1)(c).
schedule 3 paragraph 2 3 (3)A person may be authorised to exercise a power under this Schedule only if the person appears to the Security Industry Authority to be suitably qualified to exercise the power.
schedule 3 paragraph 2 4 (4)An authorisation under this paragraph—
schedule 3 paragraph 2 4 a (a)must be in writing;
schedule 3 paragraph 2 4 b (b)may be varied or withdrawn by the Security Industry Authority by an instrument in writing.
schedule 3 paragraph 2 5 (5)When exercising or seeking to exercise a power under this Schedule, an authorised inspector must, if asked, produce—
schedule 3 paragraph 2 5 a (a)a copy of the authorisation, and
schedule 3 paragraph 2 5 b (b)a copy of any instrument varying the authorisation.
